Washington, DC (ENN) Initial reports have been confirmed that security has been heightened at the Pentagon today, following an unspecified bomb threat that was reportedly received yesterday.
According to Glenn Flood, Office of the Secretary of Defense spokesman, "We received a bomb threat yesterday...and we are conducting a thorough search of the building and the grounds." It is also believed that packages, bags, and briefcases are also being searched today as people enter the Pentagon building. Other undisclosed security measures have also reportedly been implemented there today.
Few other details were released as to the source of the threat or whether it was domestically or internationally based. When asked if anyone had claimed responsibility for the threat, Flood said that due to security restrictions that he couldn't comment on further details. It does, however, appear that Pentagon officials are taking the threat seriously.
ENN continues to monitor the status of this threat and will provide additional details as they become available.
