Three Dead, Four Wounded; Including Two Medics
TOLEDO, OHIO (EmergencyNet News) - A man went on a violent rampage on Friday afternoon,
stabbed a woman and her two children, shot at the ambulances that came to the victims'
aid, and killed another woman before police officers shot and killed the suspect in a
supermarket parking lot. When it was all over, three people lay dead and four others were
wounded. The man's motive for the rampage has not been determined.
Police said that a 39-year-old man stabbed a 27-year-old woman and her two children after
an argument at the woman's Toledo apartment. The woman died of her wounds at Toledo
Hospital. The woman's 11-year-old son was reported to be in fair condition from his stab
wounds. Also hurt was the dead victim's 8-year-old daughter.
The suspect also shot and killed a 21-year-old woman while trying to steal her car from
her home. The man is said to have shot at two ambulances coming from the apartment where
the first three victims were found. Two Toledo Fire Department paramedics were wounded.
Paramedic Jeffrey Cook was said to be in stable condition from his wounds. Paramedic David
Bilius was treated and released.
