ERRI Announces Second Anniversary of Website, 1.25 Million Hits
By: George R. Binzowski, EmergencyNet News Intern

Chicago, IL (EmergencyNet News)-- Clark Staten, Executive Director, of the Emergency Response & Research Institute (ERRI) proudly announced that today is the second anniversary of its popular free website on the World-Wide-Web.

According to Tom Lorinczi, Technical Services manager, the ERRI site has been received more than 3,140,000 total "hits" or accesses, including graphics and menu pages, during its first two years of operation. 1,250,000 of those "hits" occurred on more than 1,000 actual content pages, which contain only emergency/national security-related news, analysis, or reference information.

These statistics were recorded by both the WEBSTAT(tm) and WEBTRENDS(tm) Web Server Log Scanner programs, which automatically track, record, and analyze website usage and other pertinent data. In light of these statistics, the ERRI site is believed to be one of the largest and busiest multidisciplinary emergency/security service websites on the entire Internet.

According to Steve Macko, Managing Editor and Risk Analyst for the EmergencyNet News service, a subsidiary and the reporting arm of the institute, the website contains approximately five to ten percent (5%-10%) of the featured articles and news content that is produced and distributed each day on the internet via e-mail.

The EmergencyNet News service is a subscription publication that provides 24-hour-a-day coverage of important military and emergency incidents, as well as expert analysis of the events, by some of America's leading emergency service, military, and crisis management thinkers. In addition to its posting on the ERRI website, EmergencyNet News is delivered daily to the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of State, Dept. of Energy, dozens of state and local Fire/Police/ EMS agencies, scores of corporate customers, and hundreds of individual subscribers.
