ERRI Announces Second Anniversary
of Website, 1.25 Million Hits
By: George R. Binzowski, EmergencyNet News Intern
Chicago, IL (EmergencyNet News)-- Clark Staten, Executive
Director, of the Emergency Response & Research Institute
(ERRI) proudly announced that today is the second anniversary of
its popular free website on the World-Wide-Web.
According to Tom Lorinczi, Technical Services manager, the ERRI
site has been received more than 3,140,000 total "hits"
or accesses, including graphics and menu pages, during its first
two years of operation. 1,250,000 of those "hits"
occurred on more than 1,000 actual content pages, which contain
only emergency/national security-related news, analysis, or
reference information.
These statistics were recorded by both the WEBSTAT(tm) and
WEBTRENDS(tm) Web Server Log Scanner programs, which
automatically track, record, and analyze website usage and other
pertinent data. In light of these statistics, the ERRI site is
believed to be one of the largest and busiest multidisciplinary
emergency/security service websites on the entire Internet.
According to Steve Macko, Managing Editor and Risk Analyst for
the EmergencyNet News service, a subsidiary and the reporting arm
of the institute, the website contains approximately five to ten
percent (5%-10%) of the featured articles and news content that
is produced and distributed each day on the internet via e-mail.
The EmergencyNet News service is a subscription publication that
provides 24-hour-a-day coverage of important military and
emergency incidents, as well as expert analysis of the events, by
some of America's leading emergency service, military, and crisis
management thinkers. In addition to its posting on the ERRI
website, EmergencyNet News is delivered daily to the Dept. of
Defense, Dept. of State, Dept. of Energy, dozens of state and
local Fire/Police/ EMS agencies, scores of corporate customers,
and hundreds of individual subscribers.

the ERRI Website on the occasion of our second anniversary:
Chuck Spinney, a respected analyst who works at the Pentagon
in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, said; "I
want to say how much I value the information produced by
EmergencyNet News. During the recent Iraqi crisis, EmergencyNet's
timely open source reporting helped me keep track of fast-paced
events. It was much more useful to me than the regular print
media..."
"ENN has been a excellent source for information that I don't see in regular "news" channels. Timely and topical, it provides cutting edge material for those interested in getting accurate, up to the minute details of the world of emergency services." -- David A. Armstrong, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Training Consultant.

ERRI is an open source resource that consistently provides insightful fast-breaking reports on global and domestic events with serious ramifications: terrorism, chemical and biological warfare, political profiles, background on hot spots, nuclear weapons, international crime, risk assessments, and threat analysis. ERRI covers the landscape. Best of all, ERRI releases are relevant and inexpensive. ERRI reports are extremely popular with military, law enforcement, and emergency personnel. It is a resource for anyone who needs to be in the know." --Col. Gary I. Wilson, USMC

of important issues and events should try EmergencyNet
News." -- Hugh Blanchard, Administrator, U.S. Army

"I find the EmergencyNet suite of services absolutely
invaluable in knowing what's happening around the planet. To
replace EmergencyNet's online news coverage, analysis and
commentary, I would have to spend many hours every day
collecting, sorting and evaluating mountains of information. ERRI
replaces an entire private-sector intelligence staff." -- Frank
G. McGuire, CBS News Consultant on Terrorism and Aviation
Disasters
Jeffery Gruenow, Paramedic Training Coordinator at the
Carolina's Medical Center told this reporter,
"EmergencyNet News has been a valuable source of timely
national and international emergency management information. At

EmergencyNet News items "right off the wire" for class
discussion. EmergencyNet's continued diligence is to be
commended."
"Emergencynet News is the CNN of law enforcement, fire, and
emergency responders. Original reporting and factual,
hard-hitting analysis have made them an indispensible part of our

having the vision to create this much-needed resource." -- Eric
L. Nelson, G2 Intelligence
"The ERRI web site is an information-packed, well-organized,
and well-designed resource for anyone concerned with the threat
posed by terrorism and unconventional warfare. The companion

international conflict, terrorism, and security issues. I refer
to both regularly and recommend them highly." -- Jack
Plaxe, security and counter-terrorism consultant, Chicago, IL.

help me understand the events that could affect my community. As
an emergency manager I use the information ENN makes available to
prepare more comprehensive emergency plans and train emergency

anywhere else." -- Daryl Spiewak, CEM, CFM, Emergency
