NYPD HANDLING MULTIPLE SHOOTING INCIDENT, ROBBERY CHASE

While NYC is being blanketed by heavy snow, the NYPD is handling a multiple shooting incident in the Bronx, with at least nine people shot, and a chase of suspects from the adjacent Nassau County.

At about 1150 hrs., EST, Tuesday, December 19, a unit from the Bronx Highway Unit #1, called a "shots fired" run at the address of 2188 White Plains Road near Pelham Pkwy., in a shoe store at that location.

In what appears to be a botched robbery attempt, at least two robbers entered the store, interupted by the Highway Patrol Unit. Units from the local 49 and 43 NYPD Precincts also responded.

When the shooting was over, at least (9) people were shot, including the two perpetrators. Early reports indicate that (4) of the shot individuals were "likely to die." No Police Officers were reported shot. All the victims were removed by NYC*EMS to Jacobi Hospital.

At about the same time, in another robbery, Nassau County (NY) Police chased a vehicle into NYC's Borough of Queens. At the Grand Central Pkwy. and 168 St., the robbers abandoned the vehicle the were in, and an extensive search was on foot was made. Three of the four armed suspects were apprehended at the Grand Central Pkwy. and Avon Ave. in Queens. A search of the fourth, who escaped in the car, is continuing.

It is reported that at least of foot of snow will be on the ground by tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 20.
