Multiple Shooting Incidents Along Interstate 64 in Virginia
VIRGINIA: Police today are hunting for a sniper(s) who fired on multiple
vehicles on/near Interstate 64. The shootings started at about 00:10
this morning and other incidents then followed in at least three
locations. The stretch of interstate involved in the shootings is
located West of Charlottesville, VA.
No one was seriously hurt in the shootings, but two people were treated and released at the hospital for minor injuries, according to state police Col. Steve Flaherty.
An unoccupied V-DOT vehicle was found with bullet holes near an exit for I-64 along Route 250, said State Police Sgt. David Cooper. Police are gathering forensic evidence there and at other locations.
According to State police, there may be one or more shooters involved in these incidents. Police are not describing these circumstances as a "sniper incident" at this time, saying that the incidents appeared to be "random shootings..."
