12 Mar 2005Customs Agent Found Dead in N. Atlanta ATLANTA, GA: According to both press and law enforcement sources, a U.S. Customs (ICE) agent's body has been found on Lenox Road in Atlanta. His gun, badge, and pickup truck are reportedly missing. The pickup is a blue Chevy with Georgia license APG6212. It is NOT presently confirmed whether or not this case is connected to the shooting at the Fulton County Courthouse or to suspect Brian Nichols. Local, state and federal agents are currently investigating the death and more information about the incident is expected later today... Atlanta/Fulton County Authorities Ask For Information ATLANTA, GA: Authorities in the Atlanta area are requesting that anyone with knowledge of the where abouts of suspect Brian Nichols (picture and description below) should contact them at (404) 730-7982. Police say that Nichols should be considered "armed and dangerous" and that citizens should not approach the suspect. Instead, call 9-1-1 or the number posted above, police say. Medical authorities now say that
three people have died as the result of the shooting at the Fulton County
Courthouse. The judge, a deputy, and a court clerk. Another deputy is said
to be in very serious condition with a GSW to the head,and is undergoing

Due to multiple car-jackings in the wake of the original incident, the exact make/model of the subject vehicle is still presently unclear.11 Mar 2005 -- 09:15CSTMan Kills Judge, Three Others Shot; Officials Say ATLANTA, GA: A major manhunt is underway at this hour, as a suspect identified by authorities as Brian Nichols (6'1", age 34, 200lbs, African American -- picture at right) is attempting to escape a shooting at the Fulton County courthouse. Police, in a very brief news conference in the past five minutes, said that the suspect had been on trial for rape charges. Police also mentioned that four (4) shooting victims who were involved in the incident. Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor confirmed that Superior Court Judge Rowland Barnes and his court reporter were killed by the assailant. Taylor reportedly gave no other details in announcing the deaths in the state Senate. Police refused to further identify the victims as efforts are underway to notify their next-of-kin. Every police agency in the area has been provided with a picture of the suspect and police activity is described as being at a frenzy level as authorities try to capture the assailant who shot one or more deputies and killed a judge. Multiple car-jackings have reportedly occurred as the suspect flees the downtown area. The latest car said to be used by the suspect is being identified by EmergencyNet News staff in Atlanta as a "Red Jeep Cherokee." Other reports suggest that the suspect may be in a "green Honda Accord with GA plates, 6584YN." The manhunt continues at this hour... 11 Mar 2005 - 08:30CSTAt Least Two Shot in Atlanta Courthouse ATLANTA, GA: According to very early and largely unconfirmed reports, a judge and a deputy sheriff have been shot by an unknown assailant. The incident happened in a Fulton County Court in downtown Atlanta. There are also unconfirmed reports of a third person being shot...but the veracity of that account is unclear at this time. The condition of the victims is not currently known, nor is the location of the shooter, who was seen exiting and fleeing the courthouse. Some victims have been taken by EMS ambulance to Grady Hospital, officials said. The incident is dynamic and on-going at the time of this report. Coming in the wake of the killing of the family of Chicago Judge Leftow, this latest incident is likely to cause a major furor concerning judicial security issues.
