At Least Two Shot in Atlanta Courthouse

ATLANTA, GA:  According to very early and largely unconfirmed reports, a judge and a deputy sheriff have been shot by an unknown assailant. The incident happened in a Fulton County Court in downtown Atlanta. There are also unconfirmed reports of a third person being shot...but the veracity of that account is unclear at this time.

The condition of the victims is not currently known, nor is the location of the shooter, who was seen exiting and fleeing the courthouse. Some victims have been taken by EMS ambulance to Grady Hospital, officials said. The incident is dynamic and on-going at the time of this report.

Coming in the wake of the killing of the family of Chicago Judge Leftow, this latest incident is likely to cause a major furor concerning judicial security issues.  EmergencyNet News will bring you additional official data if/when it becomes available....
